Career Profile
My name is Rafael Panazzo Roizman and I’m passionate about technology! I’ve been in the Tech industry for more than 13 years. Over the past decade, after under graduating in software development and graduating in software engineering, I’ve helped companies succeed at several different challenges. At my current role, at AWS (Amazon Web Servives), I own the Cluster Operator Experience team, part of the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), and manage a high performance team of talented software engineers. Previoulsy still at AWS, I owned the Application AutoScaling service, responsible for the AutoScaling mechanism of all AWS services except EC2. Before joining AWS, at TOTVS, I owned an internal multi-cloud Kubernetes offer that supported several other development teams and public services in the company. Other examples of past experiences are, E-commerces and CRMs development at J System and Dualtec Systems, a financial market management system for Bank of Brazil at Spread, Cloud Computing, DevOps and Innovation Management projects at Dualtec Cloud Builders as well as a real time ATM monitoring system and ALM/DevOps evangelism at Santander. I’m also interested in innovation and agile product management, having studied both fields at USP University during an extension course.
Amazon Web Services
I own the Cluster Operator Experience team, part of the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS).
EKS gives customers the flexibility to start, run, and scale Kubernetes applications in the AWS cloud or on-premises. Amazon EKS provides highly-available and secure clusters and automates key tasks such as patching, node provisioning, and updates.
Customer facing service owner - Application AutoScaling
Working together with other AWS service teams to provide Auto Scaling capabilities for services other than EC2. Application AutoScaling powers the scaling feature for 10 services up to date. ECS, Spot Fleet, EMR, AppStream 2.0, DynamoDB, Aurora, SageMaker, Comprehend, Lambda provisioned concurrency, Amazon Keyspaces (for Apache Cassandra) and custom resources. We’re currently on-boarding more services.
